A radical, ACLU-backed lawsuit now on Minnesota’s federal dockets aims to freeze every ICE operation in the state—and handcuff the rule of law itself.

On Thursday, left-wing radicals at the American Civil Liberties Union hauled into court Somali immigrant Mubashir Khalif Hussen, American citizens of Somali descent Mahamed Eydarus, and Hispanic American Javier Doe. They demanded a sweeping injunction to halt DHS and ICE enforcement statewide.

The plaintiffs accuse DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and ICE Director Todd Lyons of “racial profiling,” claiming agents stop individuals “based solely on appearance” and then arrest them without probable cause—or even warrants. They insist federal officers are detaining U.S. citizens and legal residents in outright violation of the Constitution.

This outlandish lawsuit labels every ICE stop a “police-state tactic.” It blasts Fourth Amendment guarantees and the Equal Protection Clause as mere “loopholes” agents exploit. The ACLU demands judges strip ICE of the power to question, detain, or remove noncitizens—even in clear cases of illegal entry.

Make no mistake: this case isn’t about justice. It’s the left’s latest bid to dismantle immigration enforcement. Minnesota’s law-abiding communities deserve safety, not reckless policies that invite lawlessness.

Meanwhile, anti-ICE mobs in Minneapolis continue smashing federal property and hurling threats at agents. City police reportedly stood down as rioters struck. This lawsuit emboldens the same extremist fringe that cheers on chaos.

Republicans nationwide condemn this assault on the rule of law. DHS Secretary Noem and Director Lyons are defending every legal tool that keeps our borders secure and communities safe. They will not cower before ACLU theatrics.

There is zero constitutional basis for this statewide shutdown. No judge will tolerate granting activists the power to veto immigration laws duly enacted by Congress. The court must reject this injunction in full.

The case—Hussen v. Noem, No. 0:26-cv-00324 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota—will define whether federal agents retain the authority to enforce our laws or bow to left-wing pressure. Americans demand enforcement. They demand order. And they will settle for nothing less than victory.
