America Faces a Radical Threat From Within
Jihadists are no longer hijacking planes; they are hijacking the ideals of leftist Americans. In a chilling display of solidarity with terror, leftists took to the streets of New York City, donning keffiyehs and waving Hamas flags in praise of the October 7 massacre. This was not a spontaneous movement but part of a decades-long insidious campaign aimed at undermining the very foundations of our society.
On the two-year anniversary of Hamas’s assault, which led to the deaths of 1,200 innocents, we are reminded that the battle is not just against physical attacks; it’s against ideological incursions. The Muslim Brotherhood, the precursor to Hamas, laid out a deliberate strategy for “Civilization-Jihad.” A chilling claim from a 1991 memorandum asserted that the Brotherhood’s work in America constitutes a “grand jihad in eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within.” This is the blueprint, and the October 7 rally is proof of its execution.
Leading the charge are the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), which boasts a staggering 80,000 members and highly visible figures such as Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. These activists are not shy about their intent; they advocate for dismantling Western civilization right from its heart. DSA board member Francis Gill has made it clear: their purpose is to take this “empire down from within.” Their rhetoric reveals a core belief in America’s destruction, aligning disturbingly well with jihadist ideals.
Disgustingly, the rhetoric escalates. DSA leader Mirah Wood tweeted a call for “Death to Israel, death to America.” This leftist-jihadi alliance defies logic, especially for those who consider themselves advocates of human rights. History shows radical Islam’s blatant disregard for freedoms, particularly women’s rights and religious tolerances. Yet for leftists, the end justifies the means, and their zeal to dismantle America blinds them to the dark realities of their allies.
The troubling consequences of this growing alliance are evident across our nation. In Dearborn, Michigan, the call to prayer echoes five times a day, while on college campuses, students aggressively harass their Jewish peers and seize university property in the name of misguided ideologies. In the very streets where 9/11 unfolded, leftists now celebrate the same ideologies that drove terrorists to plunge planes into the Twin Towers.
America confronts a jihad problem that is not just foreign but coming from our own leftist factions. If we are to uphold the principles of our founding—religious freedom, free markets, and equality—then patriotism must be at the forefront of our response. This patriotic love of America will defend against those who embrace jihad due to their disdain for our way of life.
To resist this insidious change, we must reassert our love for traditional American values: hard work, family, and community. The only bond shared between leftists and jihadists is their hatred for America, and this alliance is a façade. True patriotism runs deep, woven into the fabric of our 50 states and over 250 years of history.
Every American should embrace patriotism, and we must teach love for our country. Elected officials exist to serve the American people, not to dismantle what makes this nation great. The ideals of good faith debate and civil discourse can thrive only with a common affection for our nation.
On 9/11, jihadists attempted to break our spirit. Instead, that tragedy forged an unbreakable resolve and a unified love for our country. Today, the jihadist threat seeks to corrode America from the inside. But with a genuine love for our nation, we can defeat this ideological attack once more.
