Democratic Socialists of America Members Sign Shocking Pledge of Allegiance to Communist China

A dozen members of the Democratic Socialists of America have signed their names to an explicit pledge vowing to “support” and “defend” the Chinese Communist Party—a brazen declaration of loyalty to America’s greatest geopolitical adversary that should alarm every patriotic citizen.

This isn’t speculation. This isn’t conspiracy theory. This is documented fact.

The pledge, hosted by a London-based organization calling itself “Friends of Socialist China,” has collected 952 signatures from socialist activists worldwide. At least eleven of those signatories openly identify themselves as DSA members or participants in the DSA International Committee.

The Pledge’s Disturbing Language

The document these American leftists signed doesn’t mince words. It commits signatories to “support, defend and build understanding of Chinese socialism”—a regime responsible for genocide against Uighur Muslims, the crushing of freedom in Hong Kong, and the surveillance state oppression of over a billion people.

The pledge goes further, declaring that “the global advance to socialism is indispensable if humanity is to survive and to flourish.” It attacks capitalism as “totally incapable of solving the problems of poverty and inequality” while linking free enterprise to “war, empire, racism, misogyny, alienation, and environmental destruction.”

China: The Socialist “Beacon”

The document singles out China for special praise, calling it “the most prominent force pushing for the establishment of a multipolar system of international relations” and outrageously labeling the world’s largest polluter as “a global leader in the struggle to avoid climate breakdown.”

Perhaps most disturbing is this passage: “The continued survival of Chinese socialism is a crucial matter not only for the Chinese people but for all humanity.”

Translation: These DSA activists believe America’s primary adversary—a totalitarian state that operates concentration camps and disappears dissidents—must be protected at all costs.

The DSA’s China Obsession Runs Deep

This pledge isn’t an isolated incident. It’s part of a coordinated effort by DSA leadership to cultivate pro-China sentiment among American leftists.

The organization launched a monthly “political education seminar” specifically designed to teach “lessons about modern China” to U.S. socialists. During the first session, participants heard the absurd claim that China has a “strong democracy.” Conveniently omitted: any mention of China’s iron grip on free speech, its social credit system, or its brutal suppression of political opposition.

DSA Delegations to Beijing

Last year, a five-person DSA delegation traveled to Beijing for China’s 80th anniversary celebration of victory against Japan. One NYC DSA member gushed about the “impressive display” featuring Vladimir Putin, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, and Indian Prime Minister Modi.

“Beijing buzzed with excitement,” the member wrote enthusiastically.

Internal meeting minutes reveal that DSA representatives have made multiple trips to China to meet directly with Communist Party officials, all justified under the banner of “anti-imperialism.”

The irony is thick: an organization claiming to oppose imperialism openly courts the world’s most aggressive imperialist power—one currently threatening Taiwan, bullying its neighbors, and expanding its military footprint across the globe.

Internal Dissent Reveals the Truth

To their credit, not all DSA members have swallowed this propaganda whole. Internal documents show significant division within the organization about its China obsession.

“This isn’t what I signed up for and I imagine it’s not what a majority of members signed up for,” one International Committee member protested during a meeting. “There’s no way you can be a part of the organization and promote the things they’re doing.”

That dissenter is right to be concerned. The DSA’s pro-China faction is actively working to reshape American leftist politics into something fundamentally anti-American.

The Mamdani Connection

When American political activists sign pledges supporting a regime that runs concentration camps, suppresses religion, harvests organs from political prisoners, and maintains the most sophisticated surveillance state in human history, we must call it what it is: moral bankruptcy dressed up in revolutionary rhetoric.

The Question for DSA Leadership

Every DSA elected official now faces a simple question: Do you disavow these pro-China activists within your organization, or do you stand with them?

The American people deserve an answer. And they deserve it now.

The romance between America’s socialist left and Communist China isn’t surprising—authoritarian ideologies naturally attract one another. But it must be exposed, condemned, and politically defeated before it metastasizes further into American political life.
