President Donald Trump expresses deep disappointment in Elon Musk, labeling him “off the rails” after Musk announced a new political party amid a public fallout.
In a pointed statement on Truth Social, Trump asserted, “I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely ‘off the rails,’ essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks.” He further criticized Musk’s ambition to launch a Third Political Party, stating, “They have never succeeded in the United States — The System seems not designed for them.”
Musk’s announcement of the “America Party” came on the heels of a poll on X, where a staggering 65 percent of respondents expressed a desire for independence from the so-called “uniparty” system. This reveal marks a significant shift in Musk’s political engagement.
Trump did not hold back in his response, labeling third parties as instruments of chaos. “The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS,” he said, adding that Republicans are a “smooth running ‘machine’” that just passed historic legislation against the backdrop of the radical left’s failures.
Trump emphasized the victory of dismantling the Electric Vehicle (EV) Mandate and his longstanding opposition to such policies. “People are now allowed to buy whatever they want — Gasoline Powered, Hybrids, or New Technologies,” he declared. His commitment to this cause was clear, stating he had campaigned against the mandate for two years and highlighted the irony of Musk’s previous endorsement.
In a final blow, Trump scrutinized Musk’s appointment of Jared Isaacman to lead NASA, which he quickly retracted once Isaacman’s Democratic contributions were unveiled. “Elon asked that one of his close friends run NASA,” Trump noted, revealing surprise at Isaacman’s political alignment and questioning the ethics of such a close relationship with NASA.
Trump remains steadfast in his commitment to safeguarding the American public. A senior Trump administration official echoed this sentiment regarding Isaacman’s withdrawal, asserting, “We don’t confirm Schumer donors in this administration.”
The discord between Musk and Trump is highlighted by Musk’s previous leadership role in Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency and his recent criticisms of the “big, beautiful bill” that diminished EV tax credits.
