The catastrophic flash flooding in Texas has resulted in at least 43 confirmed fatalities in a single county—an alarming testament to the destructive power of nature. Visuals captured during this tragic event show a house hurtling down the Guadalupe River, crashing into a bridge, illustrating the sheer force of the floodwaters.
The scene was nothing short of shocking: a house, reportedly with a cat trapped inside, was swept away, slamming into the metal railing of the Center Point Bridge. Witness Gavin Walston, who filmed the incident, captured the moment just as the house collided with the bridge, uprooting a nearby tree in the process.

“Hold on, little buddy,” the concerned witness exclaimed, voicing what many were surely thinking as chaos unfolded before their eyes.
Walston began filming as the flood wave – a rapid surge of water – rushed downstream along state highway 480, or Old San Antonio Road. The video reveals an escalating torrent, as the river swelled and debris began to accumulate beneath the bridge, showcasing nature’s uncompromising ferocity.
At one point in this terrifying footage, Walston narrowly escapes a massive tree being swept away by the deluge—a harrowing reminder of how quickly disaster can strike.
“You alright?” another onlooker asked, relieved to see he remained unscathed.
“That was close, huh?” he remarked, reflecting the tension of the moment.
This unfolding disaster occurred approximately 30 miles from Camp Mystic, an all-girls Christian camp that was housing 750 people when the floodwaters surged through early Friday morning. Tragically, at least five campers lost their lives, and 22 are currently reported missing.
In Kerr County alone, the death toll exceeds 40, leaving communities shaken and searching for answers in the aftermath of this devastating natural calamity.
