FBI BLOCKED Border Agents from Interrogating COVID Lab Leak Mastermind
The FBI ordered US Customs and Border Protection to stand down and allow Dr. Peter Daszak—the man who funneled American taxpayer dollars to the Wuhan Institute of Virology—to waltz back into the country without questioning in February 2021.

While millions suffered and died from COVID-19, federal agencies actively protected the very individual who facilitated the dangerous research that may have unleashed the pandemic.
The Deep State Protection Racket
Border protection officials identified Daszak as “an extremely high person of interest.” They understood what he represented—a direct link to the Wuhan lab and fifteen years of collaborative research with Chinese Communist Party scientists.
CBP agents had legitimate cause for concern. Internal communications confirm that Daszak controlled the flow of NIH grant money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. He wasn’t just aware of the gain-of-function research happening there. He bankrolled it.
The emails reveal that a CBP National Targeting Security Specialist explicitly noted: “Much of the funding DASZAK receives is put towards gain of function research.” This is the dangerous science that manipulates viruses to become more transmissible and deadly to humans.
A Convenient Return from China
In February 2021, Daszak was returning to JFK Airport from Doha, Qatar, after participating in the World Health Organization’s so-called “investigation” into the pandemic’s origins in China. Border agents prepared to question him about his trip.
Then the FBI intervened.
A CBP Joint Terrorism Task Force Liaison documented the directive clearly: “Please be advised FBI New York requested we do not stop the subject.”
No interrogation. No detention. No accountability.
The Blueprint for a Pandemic
EcoHealth Alliance, Daszak’s Manhattan-based nonprofit, became the conduit for American research dollars flowing to communist China. The organization has since been accused of creating the “blueprint” for COVID-19 through its funding of risky coronavirus research.
The federal government handed Daszak millions to collaborate with scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. That money supported research on bat coronaviruses—the exact type of pathogen that caused COVID-19.
When the pandemic erupted, Daszak had every incentive to cover up a potential lab leak. He orchestrated campaigns to dismiss the lab origin theory as conspiracy nonsense. He secured a position on the WHO investigation team—an obvious conflict of interest that poisoned any chance of an honest inquiry.
Questions That Demand Answers
Why did the FBI protect Daszak from routine border questioning? What did federal agencies know about his activities in Wuhan? Who gave the order to let him pass without scrutiny?
The American people deserve transparency, not obstruction.
Daszak possessed unique knowledge about the Wuhan lab’s operations, safety protocols, and research programs. Border agents recognized this. They wanted answers. Instead, the FBI ensured he faced no uncomfortable questions about his role in funding the research that potentially killed millions worldwide.
The Cover-Up Continues
This revelation fits a disturbing pattern of federal agencies working to obscure rather than illuminate the truth about COVID-19’s origins. From Anthony Fauci’s evasions about gain-of-function research to the intelligence community’s conflicted assessments, powerful bureaucrats have consistently prioritized protecting themselves over serving the public.
The lab leak theory—once censored and ridiculed—now represents the most plausible explanation for the pandemic’s origin. Even the FBI and Department of Energy concluded with varying degrees of confidence that COVID-19 likely emerged from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Yet Daszak, the American scientist with the deepest ties to that lab, received special protection from federal law enforcement.
Accountability Long Overdue
Senator Rand Paul has fought tirelessly to uncover the truth about COVID-19’s origins and the funding that enabled dangerous research in Wuhan. These emails vindicate his persistence.
Congress must launch comprehensive investigations into the FBI’s decision to protect Daszak. Americans need to know who authorized this intervention and why. The agency’s actions suggest either catastrophic incompetence or deliberate obstruction of justice.
Daszak himself has never provided a full accounting of EcoHealth Alliance’s activities with the Wuhan lab. His organization lost federal funding after repeated failures to comply with reporting requirements and transparency demands. That should have been the beginning of accountability, not the end.
The Price of Corruption
Over one million Americans died from COVID-19. Countless others suffered from the economic devastation, educational disruption, and social isolation caused by lockdowns and restrictions.
If the pandemic resulted from a laboratory accident—an accident involving research funded by American taxpayers through organizations like EcoHealth Alliance—then those responsible must face consequences.
Instead, the FBI made sure Peter Daszak never had to answer difficult questions at the border. They protected a person of interest in the most consequential investigation of our generation.
This is not how justice works in a free country. This is how cover-ups work in a corrupt system where connected insiders receive special treatment while ordinary citizens pay the price.
The American people were owed answers in February 2021. We’re still owed those answers today. And we will not stop demanding them until the full truth about COVID-19’s origins—and every person who helped obscure that truth—comes to light.
