Jonathan Jackson unveiled a striking reality: Republicans are deliberately escalating work reporting requirements while conveniently ignoring the actual availability of jobs. This isn’t a mere oversight; it’s a calculated strategy to undermine vital social safety nets.

Jackson boldly stated that non-citizens are ineligible for Medicaid, urging critics to “read the law.” There is no epidemic of abuse within the system. Instead, what has transpired under Republican leadership is an alarming trend of vulnerable individuals being unjustly removed from assistance programs without any assurance of employment. The motive? A thinly veiled assault on Medicaid itself, cloaked in the guise of reform.

He highlighted the disastrous implementation of these policies in states like Arkansas and Georgia, where tens of thousands have been ripped from the system. A federal court in Georgia decried the expulsion of 95,000 people as “cruelty.” In Arkansas, 18,000 were similarly discarded under the banner of work requirement manipulation.
