A Staggering 50% of Immigration Cases in Minnesota Found to Be Fraudulent
This shocking revelation from Operation Twin Shield indicates that nearly 50% of immigration and citizenship cases in Minneapolis and St. Paul involve fraud. Under the leadership of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Joseph Edlow, this recent enforcement operation reveals a concerning truth about the integrity of our immigration system.
The fraud identified is not trivial. It includes marriage fraud, H-1B visa abuses, forged documents, and false claims of employment at non-existent businesses. Conducted from September 19 to 28, Operation Twin Shield included over 1,000 site visits, exposing glaring systemic issues within various immigration programs.
“What we found should shock all of America,” Edlow declared, emphasizing the national security risk posed by every instance of fraud uncovered. He clearly stated that such abuses undermine the integrity of the entire immigration system.
One particularly troubling highlight of Edlow’s findings involves the Biden administration’s Uniting for Ukraine program. Designed to welcome Ukrainians fleeing war, the program allowed U.S. sponsors to bring individuals into the country. However, it has backfired, with patterns emerging that should raise alarm bells—like one individual seeking to sponsor over 100 people. Under this initiative, participants are eligible to remain in the U.S. for up to two years and can apply for extensions while also being authorized to work.
The implications of these findings are significant. Minneapolis has become a focal point of the national immigration debate, particularly under the Biden administration’s policies, which have seen a surge of immigrants from regions like Somalia. This has attracted scrutiny, especially concerning potential immigration fraud involving local figures such as Rep. Ilhan Omar.
The facts are alarming, and they demand immediate action and accountability. It’s high time we confront these challenges with steadfast resolve to protect the integrity of our borders and our immigration system. America cannot afford to turn a blind eye to fraud that threatens our national security and undermines the rule of law.
