FBI Reveals Iran’s Chilling Plot to Launch Drone Assault on California Coast
The Iranian regime is plotting to launch a surprise drone attack on California from a vessel positioned off the West Coast—a stunning act of aggression that would bring Tehran’s war against America directly to our homeland.
The FBI issued an urgent alert to California law enforcement agencies warning that Iranian operatives acquired an unidentified vessel and were planning to deploy unmanned aerial vehicles against unspecified targets in the Golden State. This represents an unprecedented escalation in Iran’s decades-long campaign of terror against the United States.
The Threat is Real and Imminent
According to the federal warning, U.S. intelligence became aware of Iran’s attack plans in early February 2026. The Islamic Republic aspired to execute this brazen assault in direct retaliation for American strikes against Iranian military targets—proving once again that weakness invites aggression while strength demands respect.
“We recently acquired information that as of early February 2026, Iran allegedly aspired to conduct a surprise attack using unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United States Homeland, specifically against unspecified targets in California,” the FBI stated in its alert to state authorities.
The timing, specific targets, and operational details remain classified, but the intent is crystal clear: Iran wants American blood on American soil.
California’s Feckless Response
Governor Gavin Newsom’s office offered a tepid response that should alarm every American. His administration dismissed the threat as merely “one of numerous security updates the state receives from federal partners daily”—as if Iranian drone attacks targeting U.S. cities are routine administrative matters.
In a brief video statement, Newsom acknowledged awareness of the FBI alert but provided nothing but bureaucratic platitudes. “Drone issues have always been top of mind. We’ve assembled work groups specifically around those concerns. That’s all I will share at the moment,” the governor said.
Work groups. That’s California’s answer to an Iranian military threat against American civilians.
Iran Has Already Drawn American Blood
This plot emerges as Iran continues its violent response to President Donald Trump’s decisive military action. After Trump authorized “Operation Epic Fury” on February 28, the Iranian regime launched missile strikes against U.S. military installations throughout the Middle East.
Seven American servicemembers have been killed in these Iranian attacks. Approximately 140 more have been wounded. These are sons and daughters, husbands and wives, fathers and mothers who put on the uniform to defend our nation—and paid the ultimate price for Iranian aggression.
War Secretary Pete Hegseth made clear the administration is prepared for potential domestic terror threats. “We’re ready for that. We’ve seen these types of folks before. And the American people can rest assured that we’re vigilant on that,” Hegseth said.
Terror Comes Home
The threat isn’t theoretical. Just hours after President Trump announced strikes against Iran, a gunman opened fire at an Austin, Texas bar, killing three people and wounding over a dozen more.
The shooter—Ndiaga Diagne, a Senegalese immigrant—wore a shirt depicting the Iranian flag and a sweatshirt emblazoned with “Property of Allah.” While authorities have not definitively linked the attack to Iranian-backed terrorism, the symbolism and timing cannot be ignored.
This is what happens when America’s enemies believe they can strike with impunity.
The Stakes Could Not Be Higher
For forty-five years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has waged war against the United States—through proxy forces, through terror networks, through hostage-taking and assassination plots. They chant “Death to America” in their parliament and fund terrorist organizations from Hezbollah to Hamas.
Now they’re planning to launch military strikes from our own coastline.
The American people deserve leadership that recognizes this threat for what it is: an act of war. Not a law enforcement matter. Not a diplomatic problem to be managed through endless negotiations and appeasement.
President Trump has demonstrated the resolve to strike back when American interests are threatened. The question now is whether state and local authorities—particularly in blue states like California—have the courage to protect their own citizens from foreign aggression.
The FBI has issued its warning. Iran has telegraphed its intentions. The only question remaining is whether we will defend our homeland with the seriousness this moment demands—or whether we’ll form another work group while our enemies plan their next attack.
