In a shocking twist, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un has turned his attention to women’s bodies, launching an aggressive crackdown on breast augmentation, labeling the procedure “anti-socialist.” This brazen move exemplifies the lengths to which the regime will go to maintain control over its citizens.
The Ministry of Public Safety in Pyongyang has implemented emergency measures, threatening severe penalties for anyone participating in what they deem “rotten capitalist” surgeries. Those caught will face harsh sentences in labor camps, illustrating the regime’s relentless stance against any hint of individualism.

In response to the growing trend of illicit plastic surgeries, “strike teams” are now scouring Pyongyang for both black market doctors and women who’ve undergone these enhancements. Reports indicate that government agents are prepared to enforce physical examinations on any woman suspected of having had surgery.
Those apprehended could find themselves charged with crimes against socialism and facing cruel punishments like labor camp sentences. This isn’t mere rhetoric; the regime is deadly serious about quelling what they view as insidious “bourgeois ideology” influencing their citizens.

In a chilling demonstration of the regime’s authority, a public trial in mid-September saw a doctor and two women undergoing scrutiny for their surgeries. Under the harsh glare of the state, they were condemned as exemplars of capitalist corruption. An unnamed prosecutor starkly claimed, “Women living in a socialist system have been corrupted by bourgeois customs and have committed rotten capitalist acts.”
The evidence displayed during the trial was damning, featuring contraband silicone, medical tools, and cash seized by law enforcement—clear indicators of the illicit practices taking place. This trial serves as a stark reminder of the consequences faced by those who dare defy state-imposed norms.
This isn’t an isolated incident. The North Korean regime remains adamant about stamping out any signs of Western influence, even if it means resorting to despicable measures to control the populace. Reports have surfaced of soldiers sent to Russia becoming enamored with the culture of freedom and excess, demonstrating just how deeply “bourgeois” values can infiltrate the minds of North Koreans.
