Independence Day in America is a celebration of freedom and patriotism. However, for a segment of the left, it has morphed into a venue for feeble protests against President Trump. This blatant misuse of the holiday is both laughable and frustrating.

Let’s get straight to the point: the so-called “Free America” movement is nothing more than empty rhetoric. A prime example is a now-canceled event from the Women’s March, promoting confusing notions of freedom without any clarity. When they proclaim that “Free America is wherever we are,” one has to ask, what does that even mean? It’s an opportunistic maneuver to further their agenda, not a commitment to true liberty.

Furthermore, their approach to protests is a testament to their alienation from mainstream America. They suggest block parties and vague concepts of occupying space, laden with euphemisms that only serve to distance themselves from common values. Their language is intentionally obscure, aiming to create an in-group identification, while the rest of the nation looks on, bewildered and unimpressed.

The Women’s March claims that the American dream is for everyone. But why do they disregard the millions of individuals seeking that dream in their own countries? If they truly valued freedom, they would advocate for solutions rather than chaos at our borders.

In stark contrast, the events leading up to Independence Day show a marked decline in enthusiasm for the left’s protests. With only 280 events planned and under 6,000 attendees, it is clear that their outreach is faltering. This is a sharp contrast to the “No Kings” protests just weeks prior, which boasted numerous events and significant turnout. The distinction speaks volumes about the waning effectiveness of their message.

While President Trump advances the “big, beautiful bill,” a testament to his dedication to the American people, the left continues to wallow in obscurity. Their increasingly impotent efforts, especially in the wake of recent Supreme Court victories, indicate a profound disconnect from what truly matters to Americans—progress and unity.

Let’s be clear: you can celebrate Independence Day without succumbing to the urge to stage hollow protests. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying fireworks, barbecues, and parades. It’s time to reclaim the day for what it truly is—a celebration of our nation and its enduring freedoms.

In the spirit of Independence Day, I invite everyone, left or right, to join in the festivities. Step away from the trivial protests. Embrace what it means to be American. Enjoy the holiday for what it is—a time for celebration and community. Let’s raise our flags high and demonstrate our patriotism, not through protest, but through pride in our great nation.
