Hundreds of Illegal Aliens Hauled In During ICE Sweep in Maine—A Wake-Up Call for America
ICE agents fanned out across Maine beginning Jan. 21 and, in just days, netted more than 200 suspected illegal aliens—including individuals accused of aggravated assault, false imprisonment and endangering a child.
Operation Catch of the Day was a surgical strike on lawlessness. DHS reports confirm the haul included nationals from Angola, Ethiopia, Guatemala and Sudan—foreigners who crossed our borders illegally and preyed on our communities.
Senator Susan Collins made clear her demand: focus ICE on genuine threats, not families with clean records. She pressed Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Noem responded by ending the enhanced statewide sweep—while preserving ICE’s longstanding, day-to-day enforcement.
No one disputes the rule of law. Every sovereign nation protects its citizens by securing its borders. When foreign criminals slip in, they must go out.
Maine’s Democrat governor, Janet Mills, cried “family values” while defending illegal entrants. She ignores the victims of assault and the taxpayers left to pick up the tab. That sanctuary-state posture jeopardizes public safety.
Republicans refuse to bow to progressive virtue signaling. We demand targeted operations that dismantle criminal networks and uphold American sovereignty—no exceptions, no apologies.
This Maine sweep sets a powerful example. It proves ICE can and will execute swift, precise enforcement when given clear directives and political backing.
Across the country, border towns are overwhelmed. Sanctuary mayors and liberal governors talk compassion while crime soars. Their permissive policies lure illegals into our heartland.
It’s time for a national reboot. We need razor-sharp ICE operations, fortified interior checkpoints and steadfast leadership in Washington that says “Enough.” America’s borders, laws and citizens come first.
