Albany’s self-proclaimed socialists are cashing in, and it’s time to expose the hypocrisy. State Senator Liz Krueger, who champions “rent control for the rich” as a solution for the middle class, boasts nearly $24 million in investments. This staggering fortune cannot possibly stem from her state salary of $142,000 per year.

Krueger has held her Senate seat since 2002, representing New York’s affluent Upper East Side and parts of Midtown Manhattan. Her wealth, however, is not a mystery; it’s rooted in family connections. Her father, Harvey, was once the CEO of an investment bank that merged with Lehman Brothers, where he ascended to vice chairman.

There’s more to this narrative. Krueger’s substantial assets are not fully accounted for, as state lawmakers can conveniently hide family-held trusts that aren’t disclosed. Her portfolio includes around $8 million in Apple stocks, illustrating a striking duality in her progressive rhetoric compared to her personal wealth.

Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado, another progressive figure, holds $1.1 million in liquid assets while his wife, an Emmy-nominated filmmaker, enhances their financial standing through various board positions. Yet, Delgado, branded “No Show Delgado” for his frequent absences from work, is eyeing the governor’s role.

Consider State Sen. Jabari Brisport, known for his anti-capitalist stance alongside AOC. Last year, he divested from Ethereum cryptocurrency to invest in a “US Vegan Climate ETF,” clearly prioritizing ideology over traditional economic wisdom.

Also on the scene is Assemblymember Phara Souffrant Forrest, balancing her legislative duties with a $50,000 job as a registered nurse. Somehow, she manages to serve Brooklyn while holding down this side gig.

This is the reality: Albany’s so-called champions of the working class are living in luxury, making a mockery of the very principles they claim to uphold. It’s time to hold them accountable.
