Once again, the media’s frenzy over President Donald Trump’s words misses the bigger picture. This time, they are slamming him for using the term “shylocks” in a recent speech, neglecting the context of his statements and the substantial gains he achieved for American families.
During a rally in Iowa, following the passage of the “Big, Beautiful Bill,” Trump took aim at the oppressive “death tax.” His message was clear: the new bill will protect over two million family farms from foreclosure due to exorbitant estate tax burdens. He made it abundantly clear how this bill stands to preserve the legacy of family farms—something that resonates with hardworking Americans.
In his speech, Trump declared:
“Before Trump, you were losing farms to the banks. You love your children… you pass away… they have to pay a big estate tax, or a ‘death tax,’ and they couldn’t do it. Not going to happen. You have no more estate tax. You have no more death tax to pay. But if you don’t love your children, it doesn’t matter. Just forget about what I said.”
In this context, Trump’s remark about “shylocks” was a sardonic reference to those predatory lenders who exploit families in distress. It’s a stark reflection of his commitment to protect American families, and yet, he faces unfounded accusations of antisemitism from the mainstream media.
Let’s be clear: Trump has repeatedly demonstrated his unwavering support for Israel, moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, and taking decisive military actions against Iran to safeguard our ally. These actions speak volumes contrary to the absurd claims of antisemitism.
Also, his administration has proactively sought to cut funding to universities tolerating antisemitic behavior and is actively deporting foreign students engaged in hate-filled protests. This is the real Trump—defender of freedom and opponent of hate.
The left’s relentless attacks are nothing new. They’ve persisted since 2015, when critics accused Trump of vulgarity for using a Yiddish word, attempting to paint him as both misogynistic and antisemitic. Yet, such accusations hold no water against his robust record on Jewish and American interests.
While some may exploit language without intent, it’s clear that Trump’s focus is on uplifting American families and defeating those who predate on them—a priority far greater than dwelling on the perceived offenses of vocabulary.
America needs strong leadership like Trump’s, focused on results rather than rhetoric. Let’s not be distracted by smokescreens while he lays the groundwork for a prosperous future for all Americans.
