Despite her claims of innocence, James’s ethics filings tell a different story. She previously classified the Norfolk property as an “investment,” a clear contradiction to her statements that she occupied the home. Since the purchase, she has reportedly earned between $1,000 and $5,000 in rental income, revealing that her actions may not align with her words.
Adding fuel to the fire, James only started listing the Norfolk residence as an asset this past May, coinciding suspiciously with a referral to the Department of Justice regarding deceptive practices in acquiring another home in the area. Clearly, her own financial dealings are under scrutiny, contradicting her public image as an upholder of justice.
