Hungary Stands Firm Against European Aggression: A Beacon of Peace Amidst Chaos
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán delivered a powerful address during the anniversary of the 1956 Revolution, asserting his government’s unwavering commitment to sovereignty and peace. He boldly declared that Hungary will remain an “island of peace” and resolutely free from the migrant crisis threatening Europe.
Before a massive crowd at the Budapest Peace March, Orbán made it clear: the European Union is now the oppressor. While other nations form coalitions for war, Hungary firmly stands its ground. He proclaimed, “We are a strong and sovereign nation with dignity,” dismissing the will of Brussels, which has repeatedly demonstrated its disregard for Hungary’s autonomy.
“The pro-war countries have already formed a coalition of the willing,” Orbán said, emphasizing the reckless decision-making of EU leaders. He pointedly criticized Brussels’ obstruction of peace efforts, linking the current turmoil directly to previous U.S. leadership. “Everybody knows that if Donald Trump had been president, the war would not have broken out,” he asserted, cementing his argument that leadership matters.
Throughout his discourse, Orbán drew stark parallels between the heroism of the 1956 uprising against Soviet oppression and Hungary’s current struggle against EU mandates. “From there, the Soviets have left, the IMF has gone home, and the pro-migration Brussels will go the same way,” he stated, garnering enthusiastic applause from supporters who rallied behind his vision of a liberated Hungary.
Orbán’s rhetoric did not shy away from controversy. He portrayed Hungary as the last bastion against the encroachment of liberal ideologies, celebrating the Fidesz party for defending families, expelling harmful influences from schools, and maintaining a steadfast Christian and patriotic identity. His movement has grown into “the largest national patriotic movement in Central Europe,” a title he claimed with pride.
In terms of foreign affairs, Orbán asserted that Hungary would not be dragged into the Ukraine conflict, declaring it “not our war.” He stood firm against sending resources or troops, stating, “We will not die for Ukraine — but we will live for Hungary.” This unyielding stance leaves no room for speculation; Hungary will not sacrifice its interests for an unstable Ukraine or the ambitions of the EU.
As the upcoming 2026 elections approach, Orbán presented a clear choice: “peace or war, freedom or slavery.” He urged his supporters to open the eyes of “misled Hungarians” to the dangers posed by opposition parties tied to Brussels, appealing directly to the nation’s youth to awaken and reclaim their future.
Concluding his address with a powerful message, Orbán declared, “In 1956, Budapest was the European capital of freedom. In 2025, Budapest will be the European capital of peace. God above us all, Hungary above all!” His vision is clear—Hungary will navigate its path with courage and determination, as a proud and independent nation.
