A brazen serial slasher is terrorizing Brooklyn, cutting men mercilessly on the left side of their faces. This alarming trend of violence must not be ignored.
Over the weekend, this suspect struck three times, beginning with a vicious attack on a 37-year-old man aboard a Q train at the Church Avenue subway station around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. The victim was slashed without warning, a harrowing reminder of the lack of safety in our transit system.
The second assault occurred later that night at 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of Foster Avenue and New York Avenue. This time, a 53-year-old man suffered the same horrifying fate, once again marked by a slash to the left side of his face. Both victims were rushed to Kings County Hospital, where they were stabilized—thankfully, but the threat remains.
As if that were not enough, the suspect struck again just before 7 a.m. on Sunday, this time attacking a 56-year-old man outside 3311 Newkirk Avenue. He, too, was left with a slash to the left side of his face, reinforcing the pattern of senseless violence. Each of these victims was taken to the same hospital, and each is now recovering, but the underlying issue of public safety looms large.
Authorities have not yet confirmed that the attacks are connected, but seasoned law enforcement sources indicate that it’s highly likely this is the work of one unstable individual. The police must act swiftly; we cannot tolerate violence in our communities. It’s time for law enforcement to step up and ensure the streets of Brooklyn are safe once more. The people deserve better, and they need decisive action—now.
