Massachusetts Democrat Demands Abolition of ICE in Stunning CNN Interview
A Democratic congressman seeking higher office just declared war on the federal agency tasked with protecting Americans from criminal aliens and enforcing our nation’s immigration laws.
Rep. Seth Moulton of Massachusetts didn’t mince words during his CNN appearance Monday. He wants Immigration and Customs Enforcement completely dismantled. Not reformed. Not restructured. Abolished.
This is the modern Democratic Party in a nutshell—a complete capitulation to open-borders radicals who view border security as somehow immoral.
Moulton’s justification? He claims ICE “is not keeping our borders safe” but rather “making our cities unsafe.” This is Democratic doublespeak at its finest. The agency responsible for removing dangerous criminal aliens from American communities is somehow making those communities less safe?
The Massachusetts lawmaker went further, asserting that “the violence is the point right now with ICE.” This inflammatory rhetoric ignores reality. ICE agents risk their lives daily to remove gang members, drug traffickers, and violent offenders who entered our country illegally and prey on American citizens.
Even Jim Messina, Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign manager, tried pumping the brakes on this reckless position. He warned that Americans “want smart enforcement of our immigration laws” and don’t support eliminating “the federal agency that they think is responsible for keeping our borders safe.”
But Moulton remained undeterred, proposing to transfer ICE functions back to the Department of Justice and eliminate its presence within the Department of Homeland Security entirely. He called the agency—created in the aftermath of September 11th to protect Americans from terrorist threats—”a disaster.”
This abolish-ICE movement represents everything wrong with contemporary progressive politics. These politicians prioritize the interests of illegal aliens over the safety and security of American citizens. They demonize law enforcement officers doing difficult, dangerous work under impossible circumstances.
The timing couldn’t be more telling. As Moulton campaigns for a Senate seat, he’s positioning himself as the candidate most hostile to immigration enforcement. This calculated political move reveals where Democratic priorities truly lie—and it’s not with the American people who simply want their laws enforced and their communities protected.
