Virginia Democrats Openly Embrace Political Violence—and Crush the Whistleblower

Virginia’s political class just proved they’re more loyal to power than to law and order. Hours after celebrating victories, Senate President Pro Tempore Louise Lucas publicly derided the delegate who exposed texts in which Attorney General–elect Jay Jones fantasized about shooting a Republican in the head. “Virginia is for lovers, not snitches,” she sneered—sidestepping Jones’s own bloodlust to punish a single critic.

Before Election Day, Democrats flat-out condemned political violence. After winning, they defended it. Lucas reposted an AI video showing Jones kicking his opponent like a dog and blamed “snitches,” not the would-be assassin, for the uproar. Delegate Carrie Coyner, who confirmed the texts, was branded a traitor by House Speaker Don Scott—a convicted felon himself. The message was clear: Democrats value omertà over accountability.

Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger tried to claim ignorance of Jones’s threats. But it’s absurd to believe a rising star in her own party hid murderous fantasies from fellow Democrats. The real secret was an internal code: keep violence whispers buried—until a Republican delegate spoke up.

Even after national headlines exposed Jones’s plan to gun down a lawmaker and “watch his kids cry,” not one top Democrat disavowed him. Jones cruised to victory with 53 percent of the vote, just 2.5 points behind his running mate. Democrats have shown there’s zero penalty for fantasizing about murdering political opponents.

Sen. Lucas didn’t stop at insults. When the campaign bus of Republican nominee Winsome Sears caught fire, she feigned concern—then doctored a victory photo beside the smoldering wreck. This is the party that accuses Republicans of malicious imagery while gleefully trafficking in its own.

Next on the agenda: an aggressive redistricting play to erase the lone Republican seat in Congress. Lucas casually dismissed the outgoing attorney general’s legal opinion as “f–king s–t,” underscoring her contempt for dissent and the rule of law.

Virginia’s Democrats just netted a 64-seat majority in the House of Delegates—one vote shy of a veto-proof supermajority. They’re poised to bulldoze everything from free speech protections to parental rights. Newly elected Delegate Elizabeth Guzman already vows to classify parents who refuse to “affirm” transgender identities as child abusers—a felony or misdemeanor, she says, punishable by CPS.

This is not the Virginia of old. It’s a one-party machine that tolerates violent rhetoric, silences whistleblowers, and threatens everyday Virginians who dare to dissent. Republicans must stand firm: expose the hypocrisy, demand accountability, and remind voters that real power comes not from silencing critics but from respecting free speech and the rule of law.
