Unlike the current administration, during the Trump presidency, our military was prioritized, receiving their pay despite funding lapses.
In a remarkable display of support, a private donor stepped in with a $130 million donation to cover military pay during this impasse. This individual, who has chosen to remain anonymous, understands the stakes and the importance of maintaining our military’s integrity. President Trump revealed this generous act, emphasizing the commitment to our service members. This isn’t just a gesture—it’s a testament to what happens when the private sector steps up in the face of government failure.
The Democrats’ demands for a permanent extension of Affordable Care Act subsidies are holding our military and government hostage. They want controversial provisions tied to the budget negotiations that should be separate discussions. Meanwhile, Republicans refuse to be held ransom, standing firm against such tactics.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has called for bipartisan negotiations, yet he and his party remain the roadblock to a solution. Democrats’ refusal to support a GOP-backed plan is nothing short of hypocrisy, especially when they stall progress to protect partisan interests. They are prioritizing healthcare for illegal immigrants over the livelihoods of American families and service members.
Bessent aptly described the situation as a Democratic-led boycott, suggesting moderate Democrats must rise above party lines and be heroes for their country. If they truly care for the American people, they must work with Republicans to reopen the government without conditions.
