Trump Takes Bold Action Amid Democratic Chaos
President Donald Trump is unleashing a strategic wave to cut wasteful spending in the wake of the ongoing government shutdown. He has announced a pivotal meeting with Russ Vought, the Office of Management and Budget director and the mastermind behind Project 2025, to identify which federal agencies should face immediate cuts.
Trump asserts that many of these so-called Democrat Agencies are nothing more than political scams. In a bold declaration on Truth Social, he stated, “I can’t believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity. They may not be stupid, so maybe this is their way of wanting to, quietly and quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
These cuts aren’t just talk. Under Trump’s leadership, significant reductions are already underway during this Democrat-induced shutdown. Vought has announced the cancellation of nearly $8 billion in federal green energy projects, targeting states like California, Colorado, Illinois, and New York, which have long benefited from these misguided initiatives. Additionally, $18 billion in infrastructure projects in New York City, including the Hudson Tunnel Project and the Second Avenue Subway, are on hold pending a comprehensive review of their contracting practices.
Vought is central to this operational overhaul. Appointed in August by Secretary of State and Acting National Security Adviser Marco Rubio, he is overseeing the closeout of USAID following Congress’s approval of a $9 billion rescissions package that obliterated funding for USAID, PBS, and NPR. This restructuring will transfer critical functions to the State Department, with Vought determined to finalize the agency’s closure promptly.
Trump’s administration is also executing the largest workforce reduction in decades. Over 154,000 bureaucrats who accepted buyouts have exited the federal payroll this week alone. This is part of a sweeping initiative aimed at slashing the federal workforce by more than 300,000 positions before the year’s end. Essential services will remain intact, including military operations, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Social Security, Medicare, and veterans’ healthcare. The focus will be squarely on dismantling programs and agencies that do not align with Trump’s America First agenda.
Framing the shutdown as a critical opportunity, Trump is making irreversible moves to decimate programs favored by Democrats. He warns that Democrats are gambling with the staffing of the federal government; any reductions made during this funding lapse could very well become permanent.
