President Trump stunned the globe by proposing to buy Greenland—an Arctic titan bristling with rare earth metals, vast energy reserves and a frontline position against rising threats.
This isn’t fantasy land. Greenland sits astride the world’s fastest-growing shipping lanes and hosts critical radar and drone outposts. Control it, and America dominates the High North.
Yet liberal naysayers in Congress, led by Rep. Gregory Meeks, howl that an American acquisition “threatens national security.” Ridiculous. Ceding strategic ground to competitors is the real threat.
America has every right—and every reason—to secure Greenland. Our military planners warned years ago that Arctic access will decide future wars. We can’t outsource our defense to bureaucrats in Brussels.
Imagine U.S. Air Force fighters patrolling from Thule Air Base under American sovereignty. Imagine drilling American oil and gas, reviving domestic energy jobs, and reducing dependence on hostile suppliers.
Democrats paint this vision as a provocation. They misunderstand power. Strength begets stability. When America stakes its claim, adversaries think twice before testing our will.
Opponents jabber about offending “allies” in Copenhagen. News flash: Denmark’s government already cooperates with U.S. defense plans. They’ll thank us when their security umbrella is reinforced by American law.
This bold proposal shows real leadership—something missing from timid politicians who cower behind NATO lip service. President Trump’s offer is straightforward, transparent and backed by the full force of American prosperity.
Let’s call out the hand-wringers for what they are: obstructionists who prefer endless debate to decisive action. America doesn’t negotiate its security—America buys it, builds it and protects it.
Greenland forges the next frontier of U.S. power. Accepting anything less is surrender.
