Video Reveals Alex Pretti’s Aggressive Confrontation with Federal Agents Just Days Before Fatal Shooting
Eleven days before he was killed in a Border Patrol shooting, Alex Pretti was captured on video launching a direct, profanity-laced attack on federal immigration agents. The footage shows him kicking at an unmarked ICE vehicle, spitting at officers, and hurling insults as a swarm of agents moved in to detain him.
Facial recognition analysts at the BBC confirmed the man in the clip is Pretti with 97 percent certainty. He wears the same coat, sports identical facial hair and exhibits the same gait seen in photos of the ICU nurse turned anti-enforcement agitator.
The January 13 video, recorded by an independent news crew, shows Pretti breaking through a crowd of onlookers to face down a line of agents. He shoves one officer, then strikes the front of a marked federal truck with his foot. Within seconds, multiple agents pounce, wrestling him to the ground before releasing him without charge.
Sources within the Department of Homeland Security have since acknowledged the video’s authenticity. Homeland Security Investigations has opened a formal inquiry into Pretti’s initial takedown and the actions leading up to last weekend’s deadly shooting.
In a public statement, DHS clarified that agents were executing a targeted operation against a known criminal illegal alien when Pretti advanced on Border Patrol officers “brandishing a 9mm semiautomatic handgun.” Video from body-worn cameras shows him standing just feet from officers, his hand resting on the weapon at his waistband.
Pretti’s aggressive behavior exposes the dangerous reality faced by federal agents on America’s streets. Law enforcement officers must enforce immigration laws under constant threat from hostile activists who intervene in active operations.
Over the past year, Minneapolis has witnessed a surge in anti-law-enforcement demonstrations that routinely obstruct critical police and federal actions. Activists glorify these confrontations, painting agents as villains while shielding actual criminals from arrest.
This new footage lays bare the truth: agents do not act recklessly. They confront violent disruptors who seek to undermine our nation’s sovereignty. Mistakes are unacceptable, but so is empowering agitators who taunt officers and risk public safety.
Americans deserve full transparency in both the death of Alex Pretti and the inquiry into his earlier altercation. Congressional oversight must ensure that no political agenda shields lawbreakers or demonizes the men and women who defend our borders.
As the investigation unfolds, one fact is indisputable: federal agents operate in harm’s way, maintaining order despite relentless provocation. It’s time to restore respect for law enforcement, enforce our immigration laws without apology, and hold every actor accountable—no matter how loud their outrage.
