The Smithsonian Institution is under fire for pushing leftist agendas, and President Trump’s administration is leading the charge to restore integrity to our national narrative.

Recent reports reveal that White House official Lindsey Halligan lambasted the National Museum of American History’s Entertainment Nation exhibition for its biased content. This exhibition, set to span 20 years, distorts American history and undermines our values.

“American taxpayers should not be funding institutions that promote divisive political narratives,” Halligan asserted. The Smithsonian has an obligation to present history accurately and in a manner that aligns with what makes our nation exceptional.

The Entertainment Nation exhibition includes disturbing examples of historical revisionism. For instance, a placard next to a 1923 circus poster asserts, “Under the big top, circuses expressed the colonial impulse to claim dominion over the world.” Another placard claims that early American entertainment was defined by “extraordinary violence.” This is not history; it’s propaganda.

The latest revelations about the Smithsonian’s leftist slant are nothing new. In 2020, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture infamously defined “whiteness” as embodying individualism, science, and hard work. This blatant attack on foundational American values is unacceptable.

Moreover, the Smithsonian has announced plans to include “trans women” in the upcoming “Museum of American Women.” Even more ludicrous, Smithsonian Magazine has linked ancient Roman plagues to so-called “climate change.” This is a blatant attempt to distort reality to fit a liberal narrative.

Halligan emphasized the urgency of correcting these one-sided portrayals, stating that framing American culture as inherently violent or imperialist is a disservice to the true greatness of our country and the countless Americans who have contributed positively to its legacy.

Under Trump’s leadership, the administration is actively reviewing content at the Smithsonian to ensure accuracy and fairness. In a bold move earlier this year, President Trump signed an executive order targeting “anti-American ideology” permeating the institution.

This executive order directs the Vice President, as a member of the Smithsonian Board of Regents, to eradicate divisive and anti-American narratives from all Smithsonian institutions, including its museums, educational centers, and even the National Zoo. It’s high time we reclaim our history from those who seek to undermine it.
